Know where each sample stands when customers call

Your dashboard shows samples awaiting acceptance or running late and analyses waiting for results or approval, so you don't have to ask around. You approve results in three steps, and your customers verify reports by scanning a QR code.

Runs in your browser. In the cloud or on your own server, it's the same IWB.

01

Accept samples without retyping the quote

Preview the lab lines of an accepted quote, then open the sample intake, samples, and analyses together. QR-coded labels print at the intake desk. A sample with a broken seal or signs of tampering can't be accepted without a deviation: you either accept it with one or reject it. For a deviating acceptance, you record how the customer gave consent.

  • Labels carry a QR code and a barcode, and print on rolls or A4 sheets
  • Accepting or rejecting a sample takes its own permission
  • Four options for an insufficient sample: ask each time, conditional acceptance, partial acceptance, or wait for an additional sample

02

Catch out-of-limit results before reporting

Results are compared with the limits you define, and the verdict is recorded on the result. You define limits across four scopes with six comparison operators. Each band has its own severity and basis, and a different limit can apply depending on the sampling type. A stepped formula can use other parameters' results and keeps a record of each calculation. For parallel measurements, the decision is based on the average or a repeatability (r) table.

  • Four verdicts: Conforming, Nonconforming, No limit defined, Inconclusive
  • Limit sets are versioned, and approving one takes its own permission
  • When an input changes, a calculated parameter is recalculated or flagged "Stale"

You define the limit sets

Regulatory limit values don't come built into IWB. You set up the tables yourself, with version, effective date, and official reference.

03

Instrument results arrive typo-free

Import the delimited text, fixed-width text, or Excel file your instrument produces. An instrument profile maps its sample, test, value, and unit columns. For manual entry, the table view saves up to 500 results at once; if one can't be saved, none are.

  • If the same file is uploaded twice, it counts as a duplicate, and the raw file stays archived
  • Rows from an instrument with expired calibration are flagged
  • Results apply automatically when the lab setting and the profile setting are both on

Results come from the instrument's file

IWB reads the file your instrument produces. It doesn't connect to the instrument live.

04

Let analysts focus on the results that get held

If you've set up and validated a release policy (autoverification), IWB passes the first approval step for results that clear the checks for limits, measurement range, critical values, and whether a limit is defined. A held result goes to the exception queue with its reason and waiting time. Approval has three steps: analyst, Laboratory Unit Supervisor, and Laboratory Manager. The manager step applies only when the lab has a manager assigned. The person who entered a result can't approve it at the second step or later.

  • Returns and rejections need a reason, and approval trail rows can't be deleted
  • Set delegates for the Laboratory Unit Supervisor and the Laboratory Manager
  • Turn on bulk approval with a setting

Every exemption is on the record

If you turn the rule off for a lab, every decision shows a "Segregation of duties exemption" badge in the approval trail. A release policy doesn't replace human approval.

05

Let customers verify your reports themselves

Anyone who scans the QR code on a printed report gets a verification page showing that your lab issued it. The verification code is a random 16-character code assigned when the report is approved. The page needs no sign-in and shows only the report details; result values, the customer's company name, and limits stay hidden.

  • One report can cover several samples, and the issued copy is archived
  • The archived PDF goes to the customer by email
  • A setting can hold back sending a report until it's invoiced or paid

06

Don't let billable analyses slip through

Each analysis is added to your billable analyses list at the point you choose in the billing rule. You create the draft sales invoice from that list. You keep certificates from TÜRKAK, the Turkish Accreditation Agency, and from ministries, with their validity and suspension dates. Scope lines are linked to analyses and parameters, and an out-of-scope parameter is blocked on an official report.

  • On an accredited report, the certificate's logo, number, and statement come from the scope record
  • Depending on a setting, the price comes from the analysis definition or the quote line
  • You set the rejection fee and the witness sample fee

07Document flow

Quote, report, and invoice stay tied to the sample

Turn an accepted quote into a sample intake. Samples are linked to their analyses, and analyses to the report. You create a draft from the billable analyses and issue the invoice in Sales.

Reply to price inquiries with a quote

Ask about turnaround times and prices, analysis packages, and sample catalog items in your catalog. IWB AI drafts a laboratory quote with the items you pick and asks for your approval before it creates it.

09Capabilities

What you can do with Laboratory

  • Witness samples and containers

Create witness samples, split a sample into containers, send them to lab units, and track their receipt.

  • Field sampling

Prepare a sampling plan and print the task form; the sampling record is filled in on site.

  • Site hierarchy

Define the customer's sites, units, stack or non-stack emission sources, and measurement points.

  • Report revisions

A revision requires a reason. The old report stays on record, and the new one states that it replaces it.

  • Subcontractors and branches

Send an analysis to a subcontractor, a collaborating lab, or another of your branches; the other lab's report number is recorded on it.

  • Retention and disposal

Retention and objection periods become a disposal date for each sample, and the disposal record prints as a PDF.

  • Instrument log

Keep each instrument's calibration, intermediate check, maintenance, and repair records. Results aren't accepted from an instrument under maintenance.

  • Search by IWB Classic names

Type a screen name from IWB Classic, and the command palette finds its new equivalent.

10Compliance

Work in the terms your regulators use

The concepts used by the bodies you answer to appear in IWB as screens, fields, and permissions. The built-in role set follows the division of duties in Turkey's Food Control Laboratories Regulation (Gıda Kontrol Laboratuvarları Yönetmeliği). None of this is a declaration of conformity.

  • TÜRKAKThe accreditation certificate, its scope, and suspension dates are recorded; a report shows only the logo and statement of the relevant certificate.
  • Agriculture and ForestryAuthorization as a food control laboratory is marked on the analysis with the "Authorized" flag.
  • Environment MinistryThe competence certificate is recorded, and the seal number and seal condition are logged at sample acceptance.
  • SKKY Communiqué, Art. 5Wastewater sampling types under the Water Pollution Control Regulation: grab, 2-, 4-, or 24-hour composite, and flow-proportional.
  • SKHKKY, Art. 4Under the Industrial Air Pollution Control Regulation, emission sources are defined as stack or non-stack.
  • The design builds on ISO/IEC 17025 concepts; on its own, the software doesn't make you compliant or certified.

Frequently asked questions

How does IWB help with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation?

IWB was designed around 17025 concepts such as deviating acceptance, report approval, and authorization to issue opinions. Entering results and approving them are separate permissions. Accreditation is your lab's own process, and the software alone doesn't make you compliant or certified.

Does it connect directly to our instruments?

No. You import results from the file your instrument produces (delimited text, fixed-width text, or Excel) using an instrument profile. IWB doesn't connect to the instrument live.

Do regulatory limits come built in?

No, regulatory limit values don't come built into IWB. You define your own limit sets with version, effective date, and official reference, or import them from a file.

How can my customer check that a report is genuine?

They scan the QR code on the printed report or type in the verification code. The page that opens needs no sign-in and shows report details such as the report number, revision, and approval time. Results don't appear on the page.

How do I bill for analyses?

Each analysis is added to your billable analyses list at the point you choose in the billing rule: when the sample is accepted, when the sample is approved, when the analysis is completed, or when the report is approved. If you set the rule to "Manual," you add the line yourself. You create the draft sales invoice from that list, and if the invoice is canceled, the line goes back to "Pending."
